Boating

Boating

Boating is a popular activity at Isle Royale.  Some people transport fairly "small" boats (under 20 feet) to the Island via the Ranger III ferry and use the boats once they arrive at Isle Royale. Other people navigate private boats to Isle Royale from various points in Lake Superior, the Great Lakes--and even the world. You will see fishing boats and diving boats. You will see motorized recreational boats (with inboard or outboard motors).  There are also a fair number of sail boats that make the trip to Isle Royale. [You can even rent small motorized boats at Rock Harbor (Click Link) and/or Windigo (Click Link) for a few hours].
